Gastrotour Salou: The Tapas Route in Salou (May and June)

Gastrotour is another gastronomic event offered by the city of Salou. For a month, from early May to early June, the municipality's restaurants, bars, and cafés offer tapas specially prepared for the occasion. This way, the public can discover the local gastronomy thanks to the small tastings specially prepared for the occasion offered by this unique tapas tour of Salou. The Salou Challenge (May)

One of the most important triathlon events in Spain, Challenge Salou takes place over a weekend in May. It offers a full program of competitions, including the Half Challenge (a middle-distance triathlon with a 1,900-meter swim, a 90-km bike ride, and a 21-km run), the Short Challenge (a short-distance triathlon), the Aqua Challenge (a swimming race), the Junior Challenge (a multi-distance race for children aged 4 to 14), and the Breakfast Run (a 4-km charity and festive race), with the Half Challenge being the highlight of this event.

The "golden nights" of Salou (August)

Around mid-August, Salou City Council organizes the "Nits Daurades," a festival that coincides with the peak of the tourist season. For approximately 10 days, various activities, shows, concerts, and folklore gatherings are organized throughout the municipality, catering for all ages and audiences. The summer festival culminates on August 15th with a spectacular fireworks display right on Levante Beach, facing the promenade.

The Salou Medieval Fair (September)

During the first weekend of September, coinciding with the events organized for the Feast of King James I, the streets of Salou's Old Town are transported back to medieval times. It features a wide variety of shops, artisan displays, entertainment for children, and various family shows.

New stage in Salou: The sky shines again

After a hiatus, the Festa al Cel returns in 2025 with a new, luxurious location: Salou, in the heart of the Costa Dorada. An incomparable setting, with wide, south-facing beaches that allow for unobstructed flights and excellent visibility from any point along the seafront.

The new format includes air displays at different times over three consecutive days, as well as a special evening program featuring the Sunset Airshow, taking advantage of the colorful horizon to offer a magical spectacle of acrobatics, lights, and integrated pyrotechnics.

RACC Rally Catalunya-Costa Daurada (October)

The RACC Catalunya – Costa Daurada Rally is part of the WRC (FIA World Rally Championship) world rally championship. It has been held in October for over 10 years on the Costa Daurada and has its epicenter in Salou. The PortAventura World theme park houses the service park, the village, the press room, and the race office. The seafront promenade, on the other hand, hosts the podium, race entrances and exits, as well as a host of activities for both motorsports enthusiasts and the general public.
